Lakeland Book of the Year Awards 2026

Guides and Places

The book “Wainswrights without a Car” was shortlisted for the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards – Guides & Place section. The awards were held on Tuesday 7th July at the George Hotel in Penrith. The Guides & Places section was won by the book King Charles III – Coast Path North West by Ange Harker published by Cicerone Press. It was a bit disappointing not to win, but I was chuffed to have been shortlisted.

The overall Lakeland Book of the Year was Helm by Sarah Hall.
